Privacy notice
This notice covers two separate things: this website, and the TCS application. They collect very different amounts of data.
This website
usablesoftware.com is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no third-party scripts, fonts, or tracking pixels, and has no forms. Nothing you do here is sent to us.
The only thing stored on your device is a single browser localStorage entry named
theme, remembering whether you chose light or dark mode. It never leaves your
browser. Clearing your site data removes it.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent) for security and reliability. We do not use them to build profiles of visitors.
The TCS application
TCS at tcs.usablesoftware.com is a work-tracking system used by organizations. The data in it belongs to the organization that entered it, not to us.
What the application stores
- Account data — name, email address, password hash, avatar, and preferences.
- Work data — whatever your team records: work items, comments, attachments, history.
- Operational records — an audit trail of administrative actions, and a change history on each work item, both attributed to the account that made the change.
- Credentials you connect — the sign-in and storage details for any outside service you link to your account, stored encrypted and never displayed back in full.
How it is separated
Each organization's data is kept separate from every other's, enforced on our servers rather than by what the interface chooses to show. Administrators of one organization cannot read another's data, and if an administrator is granted access to an organization's work, that organization's own records show it to its administrators.
Who else sees it
We do not sell data, and we do not share it with advertisers. Data reaches third parties only through services an organization chooses to connect — its own email delivery, its own sign-in provider, its own file storage, and any other tools it links up. Files can be configured to live entirely in your organization's storage rather than ours. Beyond those, our hosting provider processes the data on our behalf in order to run the service.
Retention and deletion
Work data is kept for as long as the organization keeps its account. When an organization or a team is deleted, its work, files, and settings are deleted with it, as are the accounts that existed only there. Files kept in your own external storage are removed only if you ask for that when you delete.
Your requests, including under the GDPR
If you use TCS through an employer or organization, contact your organization's administrator first — they control the account and can correct or remove your data directly. The product gives administrators the tooling to honor data-subject requests without our involvement: a subject-access export that gathers everything the organization holds about a person, and an erasure that removes the person's identity — name, email, credentials, sessions, and personal settings — while the organization's business records survive under an anonymized name, as record-keeping obligations usually require. Children
TCS is a workplace tool. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this notice changes materially, we will update the date above and, for changes that affect how existing data is handled, notify organization administrators by email.
